At one time, the humans traded in Old Earth spices. The spices were worth more than gold. It was a pale imitation the Forest Folk’s spice trading fairs. If the humans knew that a pinch of dried Darevita Mushrooms could cure their sicknesses of the mind or Fortis Essence can increase your strength ten fold, they’d hunt for the fairs and steal the spices (like I just did).
